For more than a year, I have been working with Dr. Matthews on personal goals, healing from epigenetic trauma, and creating a better connection to my abilities. In working with Rev. Dr. Philippe SHOCK Matthews, I have found a safe place to be unapologetically me. I have found a mentor who understands the journey of spiritual development and has met me where I am with honesty. I am encouraged to face hard truths. I can have a dialogue about us (Black people), our condition, and my interpretation of it all based on what is, without reaching for understanding from the perspective of “the victim.” Rev SHOCK teaches. First, you must know the history to understand what has been done. Through this understanding, you can investigate how you have been and are being affected. Through the thoughtful discussion of facts and analyzing psychological trauma (which I could not identify), I am beginning to lift the veil so that I can release everything that does not serve me or my purpose in this realm.
